This is the first of a two-volume set aimed specifically on the BAK requirements for the issue of the initial RAA Pilot Certificate. It follows a similar structure to the PPL (now RPL) volume, but it has been completely revised to be more relevant to the RAA student pilot with additional sections included to cover RAA specific material .

Prior  to undertaking a flight test for the issue of a Pilot Certificate, the student will be required to pass a written examination conducted by your Chief Flying Instructor or Senior Instructor .

Before your first solo flight ,you will also be required to pass a written examination on the rules of the air. This subject is often referred to as Air Law or Air Legislation and this topic is covered in the BAK manual.

This manual covers the RA-AUS syllabus relating to Navigation, Meteorology.

Prior to undertaking a flight test for the issue of a Cross Country Endorsement, the student will be required to pass a written examination conducted by your Chief Flying Instructor or Senior Instructor. This examination may also contain questions on Air Law, so the Air Law section from the BAK manual has been reproduced in this volume.
